A Little River man has been charged with child neglect after police found a child locked in a vehicle on Sunday, according to Horry County police Sgt. Robert Kegler.
Daniel Lee Kelly, 31, is being held at J. Rueben Long Detention Center on a charge of unlawful neglect of a child. Bond has not been set on the charge.
Officers were called about 6:15 p.m. Sunday to the parking lot area at 10800 Kings Road in the Myrtle Beach for a child that was left in a vehicle with the windows cracked, Kegler said. Officers were able to reach into the vehicle, unlock the door and rescue the child from the heated vehicle.
The child was transported to Grand Strand Regional Hospital where he was treated and released to a family member, Kegler said.
