A 27-year-old Myrtle Beach man told police he was robbed and assaulted by two men who knocked on his apartment door on Sunday, according to a police report.
The man told police the men knocked on his door about midnight Sunday and when he opened the door one man punched him in the face while they demanded his money, police said. The man said the robbers left when he told them to go away and leave him alone.
The incident occurred at 200 S. Myrtle St., and a neighbor called police after the man went to her apartment seeking help, according to the report.
The man also told police one of the robbers put a knife to his throat, but he later said he did not see a knife during the incident, according to the report. The man, who was intoxicated, suffered a large cut to his lip and was treated at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
