Police issue warrants for attempted Dollar General store robbery

Police issued warrants for two Bolivia, N.C., men wanted in connection with the attempted robbery of a Dollar General store in Southport, according to Sgt. April Stanley with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.

Jaquan Lamont Holland, 23, and Stephan Jackson, 18, are each wanted on charges of felony attempted robbery and felony conspiracy to commit robbery, Stanley said Thursday after warrants were issued for the men’s arrest.

Brunswick deputies were called about 9 p.m. Tuesday to the store located at 1745 Southport-Supply Road after an employee reported seeing a man wearing dark clothing and a mask try to get inside, Stanley said. The doors to the store were closed and the man fled the business when the employee saw him.

Detectives identified the men through their investigating and are seeking information regarding their whereabouts. Anyone with information about the men can call Detective Sgt. Steve Mason at 910-253-2777.
