Tour Edge says its new Exotics XCG-3 Fairway Woods is several yards longer than any woods on the market. The XCG-3 fairway wood is so long because of the unique technology used. The company uses tungsten, which is not usually found in 3-woods, to product a low center of gravity and a higher launch. Unique combo-brazing technology is used instead of welding. In order to combo-braze a club, it must be vacuum heated in a super hot oven for 8 hours. The heat fuses the Tungsten Sole and Titanium Cup together, creating a more pure face for longer distance. Three-woods are available in lofts of 13 and 15 degrees, 4-woods are 16.5 degrees, 5-woods are 18 degrees and 7-woods are 21 degrees. Shafts available are the Fujikura Motore Exotics 75 Graphite and the Fujikura Motore Tour Exotics 85 Graphite. The woods retail for $299 with a 30-day play guarantee and lifetime warranty. The clubs are available at some national retailers as well as local shops and courses. A full list can be viewed at www.touredge.com/services/dealerlocator.asp.
