Two Horry County residents were arrested after police seized 168 marijuana plants with a street value of $537,600, according to a news release.
Carla Toney Sellers, 59, of Conway and Leigh Anderson, 45, of Aynor, were each charged with manufacturing marijuana after officers conducted a two day investigation into marijuana plants being grown in Horry County, according to Capt. Scott Rutherford. Officers seized the plants during from three sites in the Conway and Aynor areas.
Police seized 139 plants connected to Sellers’ arrest and 13 plants in connection with Anderson’s arrest, Rutherford said.Police also seized 16 plants from a third location in Conway, but no arrests have been made in that case, which is under investigation.
