With a good technique I can now focus the student on a good strategy in playing the shot. We will start two yards from the green and I will have them hit some chip shots. At first the student usually is looking at the hole. I need to adjust them to forget about the hole. I will walk up to the hole and remove the flag stick. I then walk back to the student and place a scorecard on the front part of the green. I will secure it to the green with some tees. I now have the student to focus on the scorecard and instruct them to hit that scorecard every time. They soon realize that after the ball hits the scorecard it rolls out. I will replace the flag stick and have them to continue to look and hit the scorecard. The ball now rolls out and comes close to the hole.
