One of the most respected golf courses along the South Carolina coast will close for about five weeks for a summer renovation.
The management company for Tidewater Golf Club & Plantation says the course will close on June 22. Some of the work done includes adding new tees, along with improving and resodding current tee boxes. Workers will also have projects to control erosion on the 10th hole, and improve drainage on some fairways and greens.
Burroughs & Chapin Golf Management said Monday it planned for Tidewater to reopen Aug. 1.
Tidewater was recently rated 41st in Golf Digest's ranking of America's greatest public courses.
