The Island Vista is a luxurious, golden castle rising from the sun-kissed sands of the affluent Golden Mile section of Myrtle Beach. A resort landmark since 1981, the Island Vista was recently razed and resuscitated in the form of an entirely new building, which reopened in 2006. The family-owned resort is widely known to treat each guest that steps through its lobby, oceanfront restaurant or suites swept in a tropical British West Indies elegance like family - or what they like to call it "the true essence of Southern hospitality."
All 149 striking suites laid out on Island Vista's 12 stories overlook the Atlantic. Choose from one- to four-bedroom accommodations, which includes a full kitchen highlighted by granite countertops, a large living room, bedrooms each accompanied by a TV and private bath, and a master bedroom and Jacuzzi tub bath with separate shower in the larger suites. Additional suite amenities include wireless Internet and a washer/dryer unit.

Sit down for breakfast or dinner in the oceanfront dining room of the on-site Cypress Room restaurant, serving a fusion of European and Lowcountry cuisine prepared by executive chef Michael McKinnon. The venue boasts floor-to-ceiling windows that offer a panoramic ocean view, a private dining area for small meetings and receptions and a sleek bar/lounge area.
The restaurant's veranda lined with rocking chairs and café tables that rest beneath a shelter of stone archways steps down to the beautifully manicured tanning lawn and pool complex (three indoor and outdoor pools, and indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis). The poolside Sandpiper's Tiki Hut offers casual lunch and dinner options, plus a menu of frozen drinks and a patio/dance floor for Island Vista's weekly reggae nights. Adults can also choose to relax with a massage, provided by JPH Retreats in the private oceanfront massage cabana.
Parents and children will play and relax in an indoor/outdoor ancient Roman aqueduct-themed lazy river tunnel and splash area. If parents still have some energy, they can take a lap in the stationary fitness lap pool adjacent to the indoor pool area.
The Island Vista Kids Club caters to children ages 5 to 12 with a packed schedule of activities like a Quicksilver/Roxy Surf Camp (starting at age 8), sand castle-building contests, pool games and family trivia. Upcoming Easter/Spring Break activities include a visit from the Easter Bunny and egg hunt on Easter Sunday.
