With the big debut of Tarte’s Color Correcting palette, I made my way to Sephora to see what was up. I watched a couple of YouTube videos on how to use this palette, which helps correct everything from dark circles and redness to contouring your face (something I still don’t understand). When I got to Sephora, I stared at this $45 palette and wondered, “Why?” I wouldn’t use more than two of the color pans in there, so why spend the cash? I asked a very cool associate who works there for help and she recommended to me the Marc Jacobs Color Correcting stick.
This product isn’t that much cheaper than Tarte’s palette – it costs $42. However, if you’re only looking to combat redness and dark circles, go for it. It’s a swirly mix of green, which fights redness, and yellow, which fights dark circles. In order to use it, take a flat foundation brush and dab whatever color you need and blend into your problem areas. Then, apply your foundation and blend over top. My areas of concern are under my eyes and around my nose.
After I used this, I definitely noticed a much more even skin tone. It brightened the overall look of my makeup that day, whether I was doing something dramatic with Jeffree Star’s Velour Liquid Lipsticks or doing a nude smoky eye.
