This time of year, everyone gears up for the St. Patrick’s Day holiday when you wear green, drink excessive amounts of green beer and consider yourself Irish for a day. But O’Keefe’s Irish Pub in Murrells Inlet is Irish year round. That’s where we went for happy hour this week.
O’Keefe’s Irish Pub sits on Inlet Square Drive in Murrells Inlet. Whether it’s your first time or thousandth time, the pub is comfortable and welcoming, like you’re at home surrounded by friends and family. The place is filled with locals, regulars and anyone looking for a neighborhood pub feel. During the daylight hours, the bar is laid back with an older crowd. As night falls, the crowd gets younger and the energy gets higher.
As you would imagine, the interior of the Irish pub is green. You can belly-up to the bar or snag one of the many tables throughout the establishment. There is a pool table in the back, as well as darts and a few video games. You can catch occasional live music at O’Keefe’s Irish Pub, too.
If you want some traditional Irish cuisine, try one of the popular signature dishes such as Shepherd’s Pie or Bangers & Tators. To wash it all down, there are dozens of craft beers to choose from, as well as a full bar.
Happy hour runs from 4 to 7 p.m. daily. Drink deals include $2 domestic pints, $2.50 domestic bottles, $2.50 house liquors, and $4 Guinness. You can also snag $5 car bombs and $5 Irish trash cans. All day everyday specials include $2 Pabst Blue Ribbon and $3 margaritas.
O’Keefe’s Irish Pub will host a massive party on Tuesday, March 17 for St. Patrick’s Day. It kicks off at 9 a.m. with kegs and eggs. There will be live music all day and Irish dishes including corned beef and cabbage, Irish stew, drunken mushrooms and corned beef sandwiches. You can park at Inlet Square mall and take a shuttle to the pub.
