‘Park Palooza’ across Myrtle Beach state park

Myrtle Beach State Park celebrates its annual “Park Palooza” on the first Saturday every April, this year with 18 programs across the park, 9:45 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.

Most programs are free with park admission – $5 for ages 16 and older, $3.25 S.C. seniors, $3 ages 6-15, and free ages 5 and younger – unless noted otherwise:

• “Finding Your Way – Introductory Orienteering,” 10-10:45 a.m.



• “What Wildlife Will a-PIER?” and “Plant Your Own Seed” (to take home, while supplies last), each anytime 10-11:40 a.m.



• “Backyard Bird ID,” 10-10:30 a.m.



• “Whales,” with N.C. Aquarium at Fort Fisher, 11 a.m.-noon, including an inflatable, life-size right whale calf, 11 a.m.-noon. • “Orvis Fly Fishing!” 2-2:45 p.m., with one attendee walking home with a new rod and reel.
