FINALS SET FOR SURGE BAR OLYMPICS
Have you been asking yourself: who won the Surge Bar Olympics?
Was it Hott Mess in all its '80s-inspired glory?
Or was it the Fighting Platipi?
The Drunken Clam? ("Family Guy'' devotees, no doubt)
Did we decide to say "everyone's a winner in our book"?
Did the IOC shut it down?
Nope - none of the above.
The fact is, a champ has not yet been crowned - or medaled as it were.
That's because the final round of the inaugural series of Surge Bar Olympics hasn't happened yet.
But get your calendars and day planners out, sports fans, the championship round of the Surge Bar Olympics has been set for Saturday, Sept. 20.
The event - featuring the top two teams from each of the previous rounds - will kick off at 4 p.m. Sept. 20 concurrently at Five O' Clock Somewhere, Shamrock's Sports Bar & Grill and Dagwood's Deli - all in Myrtle Beach.
You can cheer on the teams as they compete in ping pong, darts, Silver Strike Bowling and pool, wrapping up with a medal ceremony and after-party at Dagwood's/Bumstead's Pub, 400 11th Avenue N., Myrtle Beach. Besides bragging rights, more than $600 in prizes is at stake.
