Salem VA. - Jacob Thompson allowed one hit over six shutout innings and the Pelicans led 1-0 after he left. The Red Sox tied the game in the eighth. In the top of the ninth, the Pelicans regained the lead at 2-1 when Freddie Freeman was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Salem would again rally, however, scoring a run in the bottom of the frame to force extra innings with the game tied at 2. It remained tied until C.J. Lee's two-out, three-run home run in the 12th. Myrtle Beach allowed a pair of runners on with one out in the bottom of the inning, but was able to hang on for the win...
