Myrtle Beach Pelicans
• The Myrtle Beach Pelicans have announced they will hold a #DeflateCancer Night on April 15.
With the name playing off the New England Patriots’ “Deflate-gate” scandal, the Pelicans will raise awareness for testicular cancer and feature an inflatable baseball giveaway to the first 1200 fans through the gates. Eleven of every 12 fans will receive a deflated ball, while one in every 12 will receive a properly inflated ball.
Pelicans staff members will be offer free ball inflation to those who receive under-inflated balls, and Tire Town will be give out free tire pressure gauges.
Fans can bring deflated (but functional) balls (football, beach balls, basketballs, volleyballs and soccer balls) that the Pelicans will donate to the Boys and Girls Club of the Grand Strand.
