After Daniel Spingola led off the fourth inning with a walk, a double by Myrtle Beach’s Eloy Jimenez over the head of center fielder Stephen Wrenn allowed Spingola to score. The following batter, a wild pitch by Buies Creek pitcher Ryan Hartman brought Jimenez in for the Pelicans’ final tally.

Winner: Myrtle Beach starter Ryan Kellogg (3-3) posted his second solid start in a row, going six innings and giving up two hits. He walked one, while striking out two Buies Creek batters.
Loser: Buies Creek pitcher Ryan Hartman (0-2) was largely up to the task, going six innings while giving up two runs on three hits. He struck out seven, while issuing two free passes.
