The Blue Hose were feisty as ever Tuesday.
The sixth-seeded Presbyterian women’s basketball team held No. 11 seed Charleston Southern to a season-low point total in a 47-39 victory in the first round of the Big South Conference tournament at The HTC Center.
The Blue Hose, ranked sixth nationally in scoring defense, held the Buccaneers to 31 percent shooting en route to reaching the quarterfinals, where they will take on third-seeded High Point at 8 p.m. Thursday.
Janie Miles had 12 points, Elizabeth Landers added 11 and Keyonna Allen scored 10 to lead Presbyterian offensively.

| The Runnin’ Bulldogs held the Lancers without a field goal for a 7 1/2-minute stretch toward the end of a first-round victory.
Kiera Currie had a team-high 17 points off the bench, and starters Candace Brown (13) and Olivia Parker (10) also reached double figures for Gardner-Webb.
The Runnin’ Bulldogs will take on second-seeded Radford in the quarterfinals at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Raven Williams had a game-high 20 points for Longwood.
