Bailey appalling wrong about Bikefest and CCU
I recently read The Sun News columnist Issac Bailey's piece in which he relates the events of the Atlantic Beach Memorial Day Bikefest to the actions of students that attend Coastal Carolina University.
To say I am appalled at what I read is an understatement.
Never miss a local story.
I am not a native of South Carolina, but as a senior at CCU, I have spent the majority of 4 years here and know the dynamic of what goes on in the Myrtle Beach area. I am also very aware of Bikefest and the controversy that comes with it.
But to say that the actions of Bikefest are similar to that of Coastal students is unjust.
Are there parties at Coastal? Yes, and there are also parties at every other college.
Is Coastal perfect? No, neither is any other college.
Do bad things happen at Coastal? Sure they do, but they also happen in every college across the nation.
I do not know what institution Bailey attended, but it is clear he is an outsider looking in to the students of Coastal Carolina University.
