Why is it that there no banners posted along the beaches of South Carolina to warn visitors of the rip currents?
There could be signs posted at every entrance to our beaches; at the state park they could easily be posted at every set of steps to the beach and the lifeguards could give fliers out to the visiting public. These people that are drowning are somebody’s family member not just statistics. They need to know what to do if caught in the rip currant.
I was at the state park this week and did not see any sign big enough to get my attention. Let the powers that be do something now. We still have weeks to go of the summer season.
