Re: July 2 letter from Stan Golemo, “Support Graham or risk a Democrat in his seat”
I wanted to write to publicly thank Stan Golemo for his accurate and insightful article. He is absolutely correct. For Republicans to even consider opposing Lindsey Graham in the primary is politically insane.
Mr. Graham is an intelligent conservative who realizes that more is accomplished by working across the aisle to get the best possible solution for both our country and for conservatives. These persons who might want to oppose Mr. Graham are the same ones who insured the reelection of Obama by forcing Mitt Romney to move too far to the right in order to win the GOP nomination.
If he had been allowed to run as a center-right candidate, his historical position, he would have had a strong chance of defeating Obama. The far right has cost Republicans valuable Senate seats in Maine and Indiana, in addition to the presidency.
I am sorry that Mr. Golemo is only a part-time resident of South Carolina. He is probably registered to vote in Florida. I hope all potential Republican voters in South Carolina will take his wisdom with them to the voting booth in 2014.
