As someone who works full time in North Myrtle Beach, I have to say that it never fails to amaze me how people are allowed to drive golf carts on city streets, including across busy intersections.
Besides the obvious inconvenience of being stuck behind a cart on a city street traveling 10 mph, usually I see these golf carts with young children sitting on the back seat, with no visible safety belt or harness. Is this not a safety hazard?
I have no problem at all with people driving their golf carts within their community or neighborhood, but how the city allows carts on city streets, across dangerous intersections, in busy summertime traffic, is beyond me.
Never miss a local story.
