It is time for a change. Trash has been recovered from the beaches of the Grand Strand during numerous beach sweeps. Litter has caused many deaths of marine wildlife, especially the native sea turtles. Cleaning up our beach is a necessity, and there are simple ways to ensure it happens.
Placing recycling bins along the beachfront would have a great impact on controlling the litter on the beaches. Not only does it ensure a clean beach but it protects the lives of the marine life as well.
Another way to cut down on plastic is by using reusable grocery bags. Reusable grocery bags are made from all types of recycled products. They function like a tote bag and in some cases like a purse. Some of these bags work as thermal insulator keeping hot foods hot and cold foods frozen.
The time is now for a change, but it takes a team effort from the community and in the home.
