My constitutional, God-given rights are not subject to the whim of fellow citizens: not now, or ever! We do not live in a democracy, but a constitutional republic.
One cannot find the word “democracy” in our founding documents. Mobs and tyrants control democracies. Governments and tyrants are held in check by armed citizens. The tree of liberty must, now and again, be watered with the blood of patriots.
The Institute of Medicine reported that approximately 98,000 people (children included) die each year from preventable medical errors; yet we only have 800,000 doctors in the U.S.
We have over 80 million gun owners with over 310 million guns as of 2012. Death by guns are at their lowest level in over 20 years, yet our incredibly biased media – print and broadcast – make it sound like we are all doomed by armed citizens walking the streets.
In 1993, there were 193 million guns owned by citizens, and death by firearms was 6.1 per 100,000.
As of 2009, we had over 300 million guns; death by firearms was down to 3.1 per 100,000.
One is eight times more likely to die of a medical mistake than be killed by a firearm!
We do not govern by majority rule or the whim of public opinion, but by our Constitution: the supreme law of the land.
One woman had school prayer banned; the Supreme Court upheld this atrocity as constitutional. Yet over 70 percent of Americans favor public prayer – do we have prayer in school?
We thank our veterans for their service, and if you don’t use or own a firearm, thank your neighbor who does and who also protects you who are not willing to protect yourself.
