I was again reading The Sun News local section and yet again there was a story about a man being beaten and robbed near Broadway at the Beach.
At least a few times a week there are such stories. Where are the police in these matters? I live in Myrtle Beach and frequently go there for a meal or a movie and I’ve never seen a police presence. How can city leaders ask visitors to come to our town and spend their hard earned money on our attractions, and then don’t spend a penny to protect these people from predators who see them as walking money access mechines?
I am embarrassed as a local to see these stories in the paper. I have no idea how many officers there are in Myrtle Beach, but it certainly isn’t enough. People, call your representives and demand action taken in this matter. Don’t forget, they help pay our reale state taxes.
I lived in philadelphia for 62 years and here for two years, and I’ve seen more home invasions in Myrtle Beach in the two years than 62 in Philly. Why is that? Could it be almost no police presence in the city streets too? Our mayor, City Council, someone must have the guts to step up to the plate and care about the citizens they supposedly represent.
Never miss a local story.
I never visit Broadway at the Beach after dark; like i said, I read The Sun News.
The writer lives in Myrtle Beach.
