The recent article on a Surfside Beach councilman’s attempt to limit barking in the Surfside Beach Bark Park may be humorous to some, but not for those who frequent the park. This action came about from a long ongoing war with the neighbors who initially, before the park was even built, tried to end its construction.
These individuals have continued to harass the patrons of the Surfside Beach Bark Park and continue to call the police department in the hope that their complaints will eventually get them what they wanted in the first place: the park gone. Randle Smith, who has requested the new laws, lives directly beside the dog parks and campaigned daily at the parks prior to his election to Town Council.
He has failed to do anything he told me he was going do if elected. It is my understanding he was also one of the individuals opposed to building it in the first place.
