Re April 20 letter by Pede Wade, “If you didn’t sacrifice, your thanks means little”
I was born in 1938, not after 1945. I graduated high school on a Monday in 1955. On Friday I was in the Navy. Six months later, after some schooling I was a shipfitter aboard a repair ship. For the next three years I did my little part keeping our destroyer fleet fit for sea and back on their post keeping our country safe. Their was no “foreign conflict” going on at that time but their were hundreds of thousands of us that were ready to go to war if needed.
If you think that there were no sacrifices made by the men and women on active duty at that time you are sadly mistaken.
