Myrtle Beach downtown empty these days
Re April 3 letter by Johnny Thomas, “Base’s closure devastated businesses”
After reading the letter from Mr. Thomas about Myrtle Beach looks like a ghost town, I agree with him that three quarters of the businesses are closed and not a person on the streets. I remember when all the businesses were open and the streets were full of people shopping. When they tore down the Pavilion and the amusement park, they should have torn down Myrtle Beach also. I would not go down there at night for the fear of getting robbed.
I hope the tourists visit The Market Common and Broadway at the Beach. As for me, being a local I have never been to either one.
Never miss a local story.
