Recently, I was very humbled and proud to be among almost 80 women who were honored by Rolling Thunder (Chapter 3) at the Myrtle Beach Senior Citizen Center. There were so many amazing women, especially the WWII vets. As a Vietnam vet, I recognize that the women and men from WWII paved the way for women to enlist in the Armed Forces.
I would also like to mention the wonderful work that the Grand Strand Quilters/Quilts of Valor is doing. They make quilts for injured, recovering, active duty and any vet who is recommended. They need donations, so if you can put together even $5, that would help for materials, as the women work for free.
Again, thank you Rolling Thunder for the beautiful ceremony and the kudos to the women in the service. You are to be commended!
