I just attended the Coastal Carolina baseball game with Liberty University and wanted to make a few observations. First, congratulations to the CCU baseball team for a great win!
Second, where were all the fans? This was a nationally televised game on ESPNU. Thank you, ESPNU. But where was our local school administration, city officials, chamber of commerce, etc.?
Why was this event not promoted to its fullest potential? Where was the athletic director, the CCU president? Why was the opportunity not taken to promote our great university, its nationally recognized baseball program, our city? We are in dire economic times. Why not take the opportunity to do anything and everything possible to promote us?
The stands should have been packed. The weather was stunning. The TV audience should have been blitzed with info about our local university, our new stadium complex for baseball and softball, and our city. Think what that would have done for recruiting efforts for all the university’s sports? Folks would have been dying to come here. Simply a shame.
Never miss a local story.
