Civilian deaths unfortunate reality of war

I was appalled and disgusted by the letter written by John McNerney (March 23, “Time to stop drone murders”) wherein he accuses America of being murderers for using drone strikes against terrorists. Mr. McNerney is obviously a self-hating member of the “blame America first crowd” or very naïve.

I truly regret if any innocent civilians have been harmed in any of these drone strikes but unfortunately that is one of the realities of war. And make no mistake about it, we are in a war. A war that they started, not us.

You see, I remember what happened on Sept. 11, 2001. I personally saw the towers fall and I know many families whose lives were destroyed by these savages. That is why I support anything our intelligence agencies or military needs to do to prevent another 9/11 or God forbid something worse.

Unlike these terrorists, we don’t purposely target innocent civilians.
