With all the breakdown of moral standards occurring in our country, how refreshing it is to hear and read that Arkansas and North Dakota are on the verge of passing legislation to prohibit abortion when a fetal heartbeat is detectable, which can be as early as six weeks into pregnancy. We can joyfully say that we will be a heartbeat away from saving babies' lives rather than several heartbeats away from murdering them via abortion procedure.
Hopefully, a continuation of such state legislated anti-abortion acts will ultimately lead to a permanent reversal of the ill-conceived Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision of 1973 that allows abortions as early as 24 weeks of fetal life, long after a heartbeat is detected. It is time that we restore a respect for life as established by God, who is undeniably a pro-life advocate.
