Benghazi? You’re right, who needs the truth
I applaud the courageous editorial staff at Sun News for taking to task the divisive Republican stalwarts Lindsey Graham and John McCain. I am also tired of hearing about Benghazi. Everyday it’s Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi! Give it a rest, senators. The Benghazi attack was nothing more than a trifling distraction to many Americans, a blip on the screen that warrants no more attention than the occasional pimple I get. Important to me, but when considering the big picture, it is still just a pimple.
We need answers to the cosmic questions, those philosophical conundrums that perplex most of us. Like whether EDC funding will count toward the 2013 fiscal year goal, or if the ocean can help a vintner make a tastier Cabernet Sauvignon. You got it right with those stories. So stay the course, Sun News, and stick with your cutting edge journalism dissecting the burning issues of our times. In that vein, I suggest you do a follow-up story about Joe Biden’s advice on the weapon my wife should buy. The devil’s in the details, so please find out which manufacturer and gauge for the double-barreled shotgun Joe recommends.
Nobody cares if Obama went to bed the night of the attack. He had to be at the top of his game for the Las Vegas stump speech the following day. Everybody knows that the Vegas nightlife is best savored with a good night’s rest, and a magnum of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Never miss a local story.
Then there is poor Hillary, eviscerated by Republican Party mongers only because she did not read Ambassador Stevens’ urgent pleas for additional security. Gosh, every other official outside of the State Department read them. Of course, they couldn’t do anything beforehand since it was out of their lane, but seriously America, do you believe protecting her staff was in the job description? I’m pretty sure she meant that the buck stops with her.
What more does Senator Graham want — accountability? Hillary was correct when she said, “What difference does it make?” They’re dead. Get over it. Talk about beating a dead horse. The terrorist attack in Libya was between the Americans who died and al-Qaida, and only them. After all, what happens in Benghazi stays in Benghazi. Or was that Vegas? And that bridge you have to sell Sen. Graham, is it the one in Aynor?
