Raise sales tax and lower income tax to spread burden

Why is it that hard-working Americans have to carry the entire tax load? If the entire population had to contribute, it seems we could reduce the deficit much more quickly.

The way to involve the entire population is to increase sales tax and reduce income tax. I hear people all the time say “I work under the table.” They contribute nothing in terms of taxes. I have seen people turn down employment, stating “I make more drawing unemployment.”

Illegal aliens could contribute to the tax burden instead increasing the tax burden. If all people of this country contributed to the tax burden through sales tax maybe it would make it easier on the people that get up and go to work and pay their taxes week in and week out. Social Security recipients would receive a reduced sales tax but would still pay the tax. Get the entire country contributing to the tax burden.
