I don’t live in Horry County’s 6th district to be able to vote for Marvin Heyd for County Council, but those of you who are in that area are very lucky to have someone like him to represent you especially one who is so sincere and genuine. I have known and worked with him for 17 years. He is by far one of the most compassionate and caring human beings that I have ever met.
He has never met a stranger nor has he ever turned his back on one that might need assistance from him on one level or another. He genuinely cares for everyone. His love for children and the youth of today is quite evident with his involvement with the Socastee Park. The time and effort he has put forth there is endless. He is also so concerned with the development of I-73 knowing quite well how that will impact our area with economic development which is so crucial to our beach. He will always listen to your likes and dislikes and if there is anything that could be changed to better this area, you can bet he will do his best to rectify the problem.
Marvin was one of the ones that got himself back on the ballot after the South Carolina Supreme Court ruling disqualified him because he failed to file his Statement of Economic Interests form at the same time as his candidacy notice. As proof of his fortitude, he got right back on his feet and became a petition candidate, knocked on doors, and made sure his name was very visible.
Marvin, a devoted husband and father, a former Marine who served his country, and someone who has lived in Horry County most of his life, is the person you would want to represent you on County Council.
When you go to the polls on Nov. 6, just keep in mind that the person you are voting for should be one that will always have your best interest at heart. As a resident of the 6th district you have in him such an asset to your community. I hope he is given the utmost consideration on Election Day.
