Re Oct. 1 letter by Charles G. Lague, “We may be old, but we’re not dumb”
Charlie my boy, for sure you’re old, but the dumb part is a subject for another day. You talk about snake-oil and how much you learned. Let me question your reasoning and what you might not have learned. If you think you’ve been bamboozled before, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Let me tell you a few things you already know, but seemed to have forgotten. Let me see if any of these comments or views ring a bell with you:
A. “Whatever we once were, we’re no longer a Christian nation, at least not just. We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, and a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers.”
B. America has been arrogant
C. After 9/11, America didn’t always live up to her ideals
D. You might say that America is a Muslim nation
You know who might have shared these views, don’t you? Now forget all those other infamous promises, comments, etc., and the fact that we’re in debt up to our you know what, talk about snake-oil. I won’t go into Medicare/Medicaid because you either haven’t read or listened to what is going on.
Charlie, you sound like a nice guy, but wake up, and yes you’re old, but so am I.
