Re “An open letter to Hillary from one of the deplorables” letter by Robert Quinlan.
Now I understand better what's wrong U.S. education. Quinlan wrote that he was a teacher of U.S. history and resented being called a deplorable because he denied being a “bigoted, homophobic, women-hating, gun nut.”
I'm perfectly willing to take him at his word that he is none of those things, and he presents good credentials why he isn't.
But he misses entirely the point that if he isn't a racist bigot then Hillary didn't include him among the “deplorables.” He really needs to pick up his game where reading comprehension skills are concerned.
Never miss a local story.
He's just a guy who makes poor decisions when given two bad choices, one of which he is incapable of seeing as significantly worse than the other. Robert isn't a racist, homophobic bigot; he's just going to vote for one.
