I can’t praise Santee Cooper enough for its after-hurricane repair performance. I live on S.C. 90 near Nixon Crossroads. There were many - many - downed power lines for a few miles in either direction along S.C. 90.
When I called them Sunday, the estimate was Monday night at midnight for completion. When my wife called Monday around noon, the estimate was for some time Friday. Knowing what a mess was out there that seemed OK.
Well, I was reading the paper at 2:20 p.m. and on came the kitchen TV. Praise be to Santee Cooper and the folks who did a fine job.
