Showers and heavy thunderstorms are expected today in the Myrtle Beach area with a high temperature of 88 degrees, according to AccuWeather. Mostly cloudy skies are expected overnight with a thunderstorm in some areas and a low of 71. Tomorrow's forecast calls for a mix of clouds and sun with a chance of a thunderstorm and 89 degrees.
A cold front moving in on Friday is bringing storms, and some may be severe. Saturday and Sunday will be better with mostly sunny skies and normal temperatures, according to officials with the National Weather Service in Wilmington, N.C.
