An excessive heat warning is in effect for southeastern North Carolina and northeastern South Carolina including, Brunswick, N.C., Horry, and Georgetown, according to Accuweather. The advisory is set for 12 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Heat indexes could reach 110 to 112 degrees in some areas due to high temperatures and humidity. Residents are warned to take breaks from the heat and be on the lookout for heat-related illnesses.
