Horry County Schools says the buses may run late today.
According to a post on the Horry County Schools Facebook page, middle and high school buses could be delayed this afternoon due to several sick drivers across nine different attendance areas.
The district already has 29 open bus driver positions, according to the post, and supervisors and trainers are pitching in to help offset the vacancies, but the lack of drivers means the buses will have to take larger routes to compensate, the district said.
Schools spokesperson Lisa Bourcier said the district doesn’t know how late the buses could run.

The district is currently hiring bus drivers. No experience is required, and the district will pay for training, according to a job fair flier posted on Facebook.
The job fair is Nov. 2 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Room C-300 at 334 Four Mile Rd., Conway, South Carolina.
