Newsmakers | Marking milestones in your community

The North Strand Optimist Club presented the “Student Of The Year” 2014 award to eighth-grader Jevelyn Cox on June 5 at the North Myrtle Beach Middle School Awards Ceremony. Jevelyn is involved in school activities include the Beta Club, Student Council as well as basketball and track. Outside school activities include the Girl Scouts and Youth Group at Mt. Zion AME Church. Upon graduation Jevelyn aspires to either engineering or a career in the military.
