Newsmakers | Area students earn $500 scholarships from South Strand Lions Club

South Strand Lions Club has awarded $500 Service Scholarships to two graduating seniors of St. James High School. Recipients are Joseph Larkin, who will attend Clemson University, and Shelby Thompson, who will attend College of Charleston. These students were honored for their academic excellence as well as their service to their school and community. President Lion Steve Barbour presented the service scholarships at St. James High Awards Day.
