Horry County Schools Adult Education to offer classes this summer

Students who want to earn the General Educational Development (GED) certificate, complete a high school diploma, earn a career readiness certificate or study English as a Second Language can attend summer courses through Horry County Schools Adult Education.

Registration, intake testing and course fees are free through business partnerships, federal and state grants, and the S.C. Department of Education’s Office of Adult Education. Classes are open to anyone age 17 or older who has officially withdrawn from school.

GED and high school diploma classes will be held at the Conway Education Center, 1620 Sherwood Drive, June 10-26. Morning classes will be held Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to noon, and evening classes will meet on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 5-7 p.m.

ESL classes also will be held at the Myrtle Beach Family Learning Center, 3101 Oak St. Summer sessions will be held June 9 through July 24 and will meet from 9 a.m. to noon.
