A man reported to police that his girlfriend tried to stab him during an incident that occurred at a house at Patrick’s Mobile Home Park, which is where TLC’s reality show “Myrtle Manor” is filmed.
Jill Marie Wright, 35, was arrested Wednesday and charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, according to jail records.
A 34-year-old victim, who is not featured on the show, went to the Myrtle Beach Police Department about 1:45 a.m. Tuesday and reported the incident, which he said occurred at a home within the televised trailer park on Secondary Highway 15, according to a police report.
The victim told police he was at home watching television when Wright came in the bedroom and demanded his car keys. The victim said Wright grabbed a knife off the television, jumped on the bed where he was lying, and tried to stab him after he told her he did not have the keys, authorities said.
Police said the victim had a small cut on his left arm and a small cut on his chin, and he refused any medical treatment.
Cecil Patrick, park owner, said the incident occurred about a block from where the reality show is filmed, but that it had nothing at all to do with the program, which is not currently being filmed.
“Nobody on the show even knows about it [the incident],” Patrick said Wednesday.
Filming for the show ended in November, and Patrick said filming for another season is currently on hold.
Patrick said the victim and suspect will be evicted from the park and were given a 30-day notice. Patrick said they have had a minor incident involving police before and will not be allowed to stay because of the most recent incident.
“We understand if people have a situation, but a second incident is another thing. We have other families to consider who live in the park,” Patrick said.
