A man allegedly shoplifted “Game of Thrones” DVDs, valued at $139.84, from the Myrtle Beach Wal-Mart and ran from the store after pushing a Wal-Mart employee who tried to stop him, according to a police report.
Police were called about 9 p.m. Wednesday to Wal-Mart on Seaboard Street where a 29-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman reported the incident.
The man and woman, who were both loss prevention Wal-Mart employees, told police they followed the alleged shoplifter to the electronics department, where they saw him select “Game of Thrones” DVDs, seasons one through four, and then conceal the merchandise in his jacket after he walked over to the pet department, according to the report.
The alleged shoplifter then headed toward the store exit in the garden center and tried to leave without paying for the items. The woman stopped him and said she was store security, and the alleged shoplifter then pushed her and ran from the store, police said.
