Police said a woman took a television from a Myrtle Beach Wal-Mart store without paying and loaded into a car, then left the area.
Officers were called about 6 p.m. Monday to Wal-Mart at 541 Seaboard St. where a 29-year-old man reported the incident, according to a police report.
The victim, who is a Wal-Mart loss prevention worker, told police he received a call from someone in the electronics department who said that the alleged shoplifter quickly selected a television and left the area and headed toward the store entrance.
When the victim reached the store entrance a Wal-Mart assistant manager said a woman loaded a television in the back of a car and left.
The car was registered to a woman who did not match the description of the alleged shoplifter, police said.
The victim reviewed store surveillance footage and verified the woman did not pay for the television.
The suspect had not been identified by police as of Tuesday morning.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
