Georgetown County Sheriff’s deputies charged two 17-year-olds in an armed robbery that occurred at a Dollar General Store in Georgetown on Thursday, according to a press release from Carrie Cuthbertson, sheriff’s office spokeswoman.
Charged are Deandre Dwain Hickman and Juwan Dashawn Jones both of Conway. Each is charged with one count of armed robbery while armed with a deadly weapon and two counts of kidnapping.
Deputies said the two are accused of robbing the Dollar General store at 8003 North Fraser St. Deputies said two men entered the store around 9:15 p.m. on Thursday brandished a handgun and demanded money from an employee. The two then left the building and fled behind the store in a wooded area with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Cuthbertson.
Around 1 a.m. on Friday deputies responded to a report about a suspcious man just south of Plantersville General Store on North Fraser Street, and when they arrived officers found Hickman and Jones and took them into custody.
