The investigation into a Conway man being found shot to death inside a vehicle in the parking lot of Myrtle Beach restaurant continued Thursday, authorities said.
Myrtle Beach police Lt. Joey Crosby said detectives continued to investigation the shooting death of 44-year-old Garrey Sumter of Conway.
Sumter was found about 8 a.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of Denny’s at 800 S. Kings Highway, Crosby said.
In a brief incident report about the incident, a 44-year-old woman, who works at the restaurant, noticed a white 2014 Chevy Malibu in the parking lot with blood on the door and ground by the vehicle. The woman called authorities and EMS was called for an unresponsive man.

In the report Sumter was reportedly last heard from about 4 a.m. Wednesday.
When authorities arrived they learned Sumter was dead and Crosby said his death is considered a homicide.
