Georgetown County and state authorities are at a boat landing where a man died from what appeared to be a tree falling and crushing him, officials said.
Emergency crews were called at 11 a.m. Tuesday to a boat landing at Dawhoo Lake along Sandhole Road for the incident, officials said.
An official with the S.C. Department of Natural Resources was on the way to the scene to investigate the incident, said Brett Witt, a DNR spokesman.
Additional details were not immediately available, but more information will be posted as it is released.
