A North Carolina man was arrested Wednesday on weapons charges in Myrtle Beach after two men, who were on a hotel balcony, reported he threatened to kill them, according to a police report.
Anthony Walker, 22, of Kernersville, N.C., is charged with two counts of pointing and presenting a weapon and was being held Thursday at the Myrtle Beach Jail., according to jail records.
Officers were called about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday to Blu Atlantic Oceanfront Hotel & Suites at 1203 S. Ocean Blvd., for a weapons law violation, police said. Hotel management told police that two of their guests, men ages 21 and 22, had reported Walker was waving a gun around the hotel.
The victims told police they were standing on the balcony when Walker and a 21-year-old man yelled at them for no reason and then Walker pointed a gun at them, according to the report. The victims said the other man yelled that Walker would kill them.
Officers found Walker in the parking lot and he denied the victim’s accusations, according to the report. Officers found two handguns inside the vehicle where Walker was taken into custody. The guns were on the front passenger seat.
The other man with Walker told officers he was at the beach and did not see the incident, according to the report. The man said Walker was yelling at the victims after the gun incident.
