A Myrtle Beach man was sentenced to two years in prison after officials seized child pornography videos from his computer, according to authorities.
Ronaldo Pereira, 46, pleaded guilty Aug. 5 to two counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and 10 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor before Circuit Court Judge Benjamin H. Culbertson, who sentenced him to two years in jail, according to a release from the S.C. Attorney General’s Office.
Pereira also agreed to forfeit his computer and register as a sex offender.
An investigator with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office downloaded 15 video files containing minors engaged in sexual activity from an Internet Protocol address in Horry County that authorities said was used by Pereira, according to the release.
An investigator with the Horry County Sheriff’s Office searched Pereira’s home and seized electronic equipment, according to the release. When investigators searched Pereira’s computer they found 56 videos of minors engaged in sexual activity.
